Weekend threads get much better once somebody names a real plan. If people are meeting, pick a place on the east side where people can park without stress and put the time in the thread so solo attendees know the plan is real.
What usually makes the conversation feel alive is when somebody says who is going solo, who is bringing friends, and whether there is food after. That lowers the friction for everybody else.

For groups, I would suggest one person handle the timing and one person handle updates. The weekend threads that work well are the ones where people do not have to guess what is happening next.
If the event is in Atlanta, think about movement before aesthetics. A place near Clarkston or Stone Mountain that is easy to reach will usually beat the more glamorous option.
I have learned that after-party talk is easy, but the best energy usually comes from one simple pre-event or post-event plan people can actually commit to. That matters more than having ten vague options.
